Location: Balaclava

In collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC) and the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade operates a Trade Obstacle Alert Mechanism (TOAM) since 2015. This web-based platform allows business operators to report trade obstacles such as non-tariff barriers and other constraints which they might face in the course of exports and imports. These obstacles are channeled to relevant Ministries Organisations for remedial actions..

The ITC has secured financial assistance from the United Kingdom Trade Partnership Program, and in this context is collaborating with Mauritius to upgrade the existing TOAM platform. The upgraded TOAM platform will be a simplified version which will enable quicker reporting of the obstacles faced by traders, and will also help them describe in more details the obstacles they faced. The new platform will be more user friendly and will be also accessible through a mobile application..

The new improved Trade Obstacles Alert Mechanism (TOAM) and its complementary mobile application will be launched on Thursday 29th September 2022 by the Hon Minister A. Ganoo, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade..

A training session will also be conducted to build the capacity of the operators on how to use the new platform and the mobile application.
