There is no official national data on ethnic groups in Afghanistan. However, the 2004 constitution recognises 14 ethnic groups: Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek, Baloch, Turkmen, Nuristani, Pamiri, Arab, Gujar, Brahui, Qizilbash, Aimaq, and Pasha. Among these groups, the most widely spread in Afghanistan are the Pashtun, Tajik, Hazara, Uzbek and Baloch.
