Import of any Exotic Wildlife

Permit to introduce live animal other than livestock or fish (i.e exotic wildlife) in accordance with section 35 of the Native Terrestrial Biodiversity and National Parks Act (2015).
Permit to import prescribed wildlife or any product thereof ( i.e CITES listed species, its derivatives and products) in accordance with section 25 of the above act.
1. Submit letter of application or prescribed form to the Director of National Park & Conservation Service
2. Screening & Processing of Application by NPCS
3. In case of Wildlife listed in the CITES appendices; A CITES Permit is required
4. Decision, where applicable, is directed to Parent Ministry for approval
5. Application approved: Issue permit
6. Application not approved: Inform applicant
7. Upon receipt of Approval; Applicant has to apply for a Veterinary Certificate from Veterinary Services
Fees Payable: Import permit: Rs 50
CITES permit: Rs 300
Scientific Research: No fees
For importation of any species of wildlife, it has to be screened for potential invasiveness and only then, approval can be given.
Upon receipt of Approval - Applicant has to apply for a Veterinary Certificate from Veterinary Services
