The process in order to get compliance

Process for complying:

Application made on prescribed form available at the Division of Veterinary.

Application processed and submitted to Import Permit Committee after taking into consideration disease situation in exporting country.

Horses - Rs. 1000 per animal Cats & Dogs - Rs. 500 Cage birds - Rs. 100 for every 10 birds. Other live anmials - Rs. 200

Veterinary clearance fee (live animals and pets) : Rs 500

Once I have it, what do I have to do:

Clearance for Imported Live Animals & Products of Animal Origin at Port of Entry:

1. Veterinary Officer verifies documents (Import Permit & Export Health Certificate) and Inspect Animals / Consignment of Animal Origin products Live Animals.

a) Veterinary Officer issues a provisional/final landing certificate based on preliminary examination of documents. If Comply Fully with Import Conditions including Export Veterinary Certificate prepared by Veterinary Administration (country of origin): Clearance is obtained.

b) Veterinary Officer fills in Certificate of Entry ( in the case of live animals).

c) In case of Non-compliance with import conditions : Consignment is re-exported by same/immediate means or kept in quarantine until next available transport .

d) After Landing allowed: Animals kept in post quarantine where their health is monitored (30-90 days) then Final Release.

 

Required Documents to process:

For new product and country: Prior clearance of sanitary conditions in country of origin. Export Health Certificate issued by Official Veterinary Services of the exporting country based on import conditions required by importing country.

The export health certificate must be signed and stamped by Official Veterinary Services of exporting country.
