Import Permit Application (PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS)

No Dangerous Drugs may be imported in Mauritius unless it is registered by the Pharmacy Board.
Licensing a wholesale pharmacy or retail pharmacy
- Application for the licensing of a wholesale pharmacy or a retail pharmacy must be done by the Pharmacy Board.
Only licensed wholesale pharmacies duly registered with the pharmacy board on the Mauritian Territory are allowed
(a) to import pharmaceutical product
(b) to distribute to retail pharmacies
Application for the registration of a pharmaceutical product near the Pharmacy Board should be made through a licensed Wholesale Pharmacy on the Mauritian Territory.
Application fee: Rs 1000
Clearance of Imported Consignment at Port of Entry:-
The importer must produce the following documents:-
i. original and one copy of the relevant invoice of the goods
ii. original and one copy of the related Bill of Lading or Airway Bill or other document of title acceptable to the Permanent Secretary or Postal Receipt or the Notice of Arrival of goods issued by an organisation providing a courier service at the counter of the Trade Division.
Invoices have to be endorsed by the Registrar to show that the importation of the pharmaceutical product is authorised.
Certificate of Inspection forwarded to Mauritius Revenue Authority to authorize delivery from customs/bonds.
Documents needed:
1. - original + the copy of invoice
2. - evidence & registration or authorization letter & import
