The process in order to get compliance

Process for complying:

 The submission of an application for an import permit is carried out electronically underthe TradeNet Phase 5 System. The individual or company wishing to submit their own applications electronically have to register themselves with the Mauritius Network Services Ltd (MNS).

    NOTE: Fees applicable for failing to comply with Import Control Regulations (GN 135 1999).
    If the goods are already import without a prior import permit, a grant of an import permit subject to the payment fee of 6,000 rupees is applicable.

Once I have it, what do I have to do:

Clearance of Imported Consignment at Port of Entry

    The importer must produce the following documents:-
      i. original and one copy of the relevant invoice of the goods
     ii. original and one copy of the related Bill of Lading or Airway Bill or other document of title acceptable to the Permanent Secretary or Postal Receipt or the Notice of Arrival of goods issued by an organisation providing a courier  service at the counter of the Trade Division.

 Certificate of Inspection forwarded to Mauritius Revenue Authority to authorize delivery from customs/bonds.

    

Validity of the compliance:
12 months
Required Documents to process:

Documents needed:
    1. A Photocopy of the appropriate trading license of the applicant if contriolled goods are imported for resale.
    2. In case of the importation of a second hand motor vehicle, a photocopy of the National Identity Card or  the Certificate of Incorporation of the applicant.
