The process in order to get compliance

Process for complying:

No person shall import in, or export from, Mauritius any radiation source, including nuclear material and other radioactive material or radioactive waste, or any controlled item, unless he holds a permit, from the Authority, which specifically authorises the importation or exportation of the radiation source or controlled items.


Any person who intends to import or export a radiation source should submit an application through the TradeNet Portal for authorisation.


Prepare customs Bill of Entry (BoE) with RSNSA number and send with required documents.

For the issue of an import permit for the importation of a radiation source or any other controlled items:

 

  • Rs 1,000 in a single shipment
  • Rs 5,000 in multiple shipments over a period not exceeding 12 months

 

 

Once I have it, what do I have to do:

Notify the RSNSA, in writing, as soon as practicable after receipt of the consignment.

Required Documents to process:

Required documents:

1. A copy of the licence issued by the RSNSA authorising the consignee to possess such radiation source

2. Source Certificate (for radioactive sources)

3. The Certificate of conformity certifying that the equipment being imported meets international standards (ISO/CE/IEC)

4. Technical specification of the radiation source.

5. The contractual arrangement between the consignee and the supplier/manufacturer for the return of radioactive source
